Community Engagement Specialist

Salary - £26,

Contract - Full-time 12-month FTC

Location - Covering the Preston Area

We are thrilled to introduce exciting roles within the Work and Health Programme and are on the lookout for a Community Engagement Specialist to join our dedicated team. This position is vital in fostering connections with stakeholders to advocate for integration across various Local Authority boroughs. You will work in close partnership with the Local Authority, JobCentre Plus (JCP), and voluntary/third sector organizations to enhance referrals to the programme.

Key Responsibilities of a Community Engagement Specialist:

  • Engage with clients through events to promote the programme.
  • Maintain regular communication with JCP Work Coaches and other referral agents.
  • Collaborate with local community and health organizations to increase referrals.
  • Conduct welcome sessions for new participants, organize job fairs, and local events to improve referrals and job outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to JCP colleagues to highlight success stories of progression.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with various services beneficial to participants.
  • Create a support network to address individual participant needs.

Qualifications for a Community Engagement Specialist:

  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel within designated areas.
  • In-depth understanding of employment services and welfare-to-work processes.
  • Experience in a performance-driven environment.

The Work and Health Programme is designed for individuals on specific benefits who face challenges in securing employment. This may include health conditions, criminal records, being a care leaver, or ex-armed forces personnel.
