Leicester, Leicester, United Kingdom Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Psychological Associate Specialist to become a vital member of our collaborative multidisciplinary team within the mental health sector.

This role is integral to our established service, which has been delivering exceptional care for individuals facing various psychological challenges for many years.

The successful candidate will engage in the assessment and formulation of personalized care strategies aimed at fostering recovery through evidence-based practices and strong therapeutic alliances with clients.

As a Psychological Associate Specialist, you will work alongside a diverse team that includes clinical psychologists, psychological assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, and dietitians. We highly value teamwork and encourage collaborative efforts across all disciplines.

While experience in dealing with psychological disorders is advantageous, we also welcome candidates with limited experience who are eager to grow in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will collaborate with service users to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of their psychological challenges and the effects on their overall health and well-being, as well as the impact on their support networks.

This position primarily focuses on outpatient services, with potential opportunities to engage with inpatient care as needed. Under the guidance of a qualified clinical psychologist, you will conduct psychological evaluations and develop formulations to inform therapeutic interventions during one-on-one sessions with clients.

You will manage your own caseload and collaborate with team members to implement and assess group-based therapeutic programs.

Involvement in service enhancement initiatives and educational opportunities will also be part of your responsibilities. A solid understanding of the physical and psychological challenges faced by our clients will be beneficial.

Support in risk management will be provided by the team, along with training and development opportunities tailored to your role, equipping you with specialized skills. Participation in our ongoing professional development program, featuring a variety of internal and external speakers, is encouraged.

We foster a strong research culture and are committed to continuous quality improvement, offering ample opportunities to contribute to our research and development initiatives.
