Position Overview
At Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, we are dedicated to innovating our approach to support individuals with relational and emotional challenges. Our focus includes the establishment of a Primary Care and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) hub aimed at fostering psychologically- and trauma-informed practices.
We are looking for a qualified professional at Band 8a, or Band 7 on a preceptorship, to join our team. This role offers the chance to engage in our evolving secondary care services and contribute to the development and implementation of the VCSE hub.
Role as a Psychologist within Leicestershire Partnership Trust
The Trust boasts a comprehensive service framework with psychologists occupying pivotal roles, including leadership positions at the directorate level. Our team includes pathway leads specializing in complex trauma, psychosis, and personality disorders, supported by psychologists across various grades. We are committed to fostering your professional growth through extensive training and supervision.
Our psychologists are encouraged to utilize their full skill set, balancing their time between various responsibilities. Opportunities for involvement in teaching, training, research, service enhancement, supervision, team oversight, reflective practice, and direct clinical engagement with individuals and groups are readily available. It is a rewarding environment for psychologists, as we have the opportunity to shape the services that meet community needs.
Incentives
This position includes a Welcome Bonus of £5,000, structured as follows: an initial payment of £1,800 (pro rata based on hours worked) upon your first salary; a subsequent payment of £1,800 (pro rata) after 12 months of service; and a final payment of £1,400 (pro rata) after 18 months of service. Please note that qualifying criteria and Scheme Rules apply, including a minimum tenure of 24 months to avoid repayment obligations.
Key Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to addressing relational and emotional needs. You will collaborate with over 30 professionals, including the Consultant Psychologist, Principal Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Medical Psychotherapist, Peer Support Workers, and Mental Health Practitioners. Your role will involve providing both direct and indirect interventions, facilitating individual and group therapies, and offering supervision, training, and consultation.
Our service includes practitioners skilled in various therapeutic approaches, including Mentalization-Based Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Structured Clinical Management, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, trauma-informed practices, and integrative psychological methods.
You will have the chance to broaden your psychological expertise through diverse supervision opportunities and ongoing professional development. We support your growth through both internal and external training programs.
We maintain strong partnerships with the University of Leicester, allowing for involvement in teaching, trainee placements, and collaborative input.
