About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking dedicated Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or Education Studies Graduates to join our team as Special Needs Learning Support Assistants in Leicester. This role is situated within a specialized educational environment designed for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) addressing various challenges, including trauma, social, emotional, and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse needs, fostering a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere.
  • Engage with students to build trusting relationships, emphasizing a restorative approach to education.
  • Assist in demonstrating the importance of education to students, helping them navigate their unique challenges.

This position is ideal for graduates aspiring to gain practical experience in Clinical Psychology, Advocacy, or Youth/Social Justice, as well as those considering a future in teaching. The role offers daily insights into the complexities and significance of supporting students with special educational needs.

Essential Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols. Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive background checks, including an enhanced DBS clearance.
