Job Title: Finance Administrator

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently seeking a skilled Transactions Assistant to join their team on a contract basis until 31st March, with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work on a rate of £16.71/hour PAYE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow established income procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Input and issue sales invoices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in ledger codes.
  • Bank and receipt income promptly, maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with reconciliation of income received to information recorded on internal systems.
  • Create and maintain debtors within the financial system, ensuring up-to-date information.
  • Respond to regular sales invoice queries, providing clear and concise information.
  • Follow debt recovery processes, logging relevant information in customer accounts.
  • Assist the wider finance team as required, contributing to the smooth operation of the department.
  • Participate in yearend procedures, working within agreed timescales with the Transactions Manager.
  • Maintain filing and tracking systems, ensuring easy access to information.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required, supporting the transactions team and contributing to the department's goals.
Essential Skills:
  • Educated to Standard Grade Level or equivalent, with a strong foundation in numeracy and literacy.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in financial software an advantage.
  • Understanding of financial controls and the financial environment, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous administrative experience, with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Effective organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a flexible approach to work.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience of working with external/internal contacts at all levels, with a focus on building strong relationships.
  • Experience of working with Oracle/SEAS or Oracle Cloud financial systems, with a strong understanding of financial software.
