About the Role

This is a key role within the credit control team, reporting to the senior credit control manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer accounts, ensuring timely and efficient payment processing, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, log, and allocate bank statements, and deal with any queries that may arise.
  • Record new accounts, request credit reports, and send acceptance letters.
  • Allocate national accounts, process POD requests, and deal with any queries.
  • Liaise with depots and credit control to take accounts 'off stop' and request further payment, in line with department restrictions.
  • Refer accounts of concern to the Group Credit Manager.
  • Update changes to the AS400 system to ensure customer accounts are correct when required.
  • Support the department in preparing depot review lists to send to the credit agency and checking online credit limits.
  • Manage and order depot and customer paying in books.
  • Prepare and bank any cheques received at head office, as required.
  • Send copy invoices via email or post, as required.
  • Set up customer accounts for emailed invoices with the IT department.
  • Prepare salesman bonuses, as required, for approval.
  • Send storage and insurance letters to depots, as required.
  • Be included on the 'ring-a-round' to answer overflow calls.
  • Perform other general administration and reasonable duties as required, including supporting the department during busy and holiday periods.
