About the Role

Pertemps Daventry is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team in a village near Towcester. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our company's credit and cash flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bank Statement Management: Prepare, log, allocate, and deal with queries related to bank statements.
  • New Account Setup: Record new accounts, request credit reports, and send acceptance letters.
  • National Account Management: Allocate national accounts, process POD requests, and handle queries.
  • Card Payment Requests: Support daily card payment requests from customers and depots.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with depots and credit control to take accounts off stop and request further payment, in line with department restrictions.
  • Account Referral: Refer accounts of concern to the Group Credit Manager.
  • System Updates: Update the AS400 system to ensure customer accounts are accurate when required.
  • Depot Review Lists: Support the department in preparing depot review lists to send to the credit agency and checking online credit limits.
  • Payment Management: Manage and order depot and customer paying in books.
  • Banking and Invoicing: Prepare and bank cheques received at head office and send copy invoices via email or post.
  • Customer Account Setup: Set up customer accounts for emailed invoices with the IT department.
  • Storage and Insurance: Send storage and insurance letters to depots.
  • General Administration: Perform other general administration tasks and support the department during busy and holiday periods.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in credit control or a related field is beneficial.
  • A driving license is essential, as the role is office-based in the Northamptonshire countryside.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
