Continuous Improvement Specialist

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to support the advancement and implementation of the Lumentum Production System. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to delivering outstanding quality service, spearheading key initiatives for sustained process enhancements, and fostering innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Change Management:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist acts as an adviser, trainer, coach, and catalyst for change within the organization.
System and Curriculum Development:
As the organization's Lean technical expert, the Specialist will assist in defining, conceptualizing, and customizing a business-specific operational framework and the associated training modules.
Employee Development:
This role is pivotal in transitioning the organization from a sensei-dependent model to an employee-driven continuous improvement culture, encompassing both formal and informal training across all levels.
Event Management:
The Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert and facilitator for standard work related to events, overseeing strategy, planning, execution, and follow-up.
Daily Improvement Deployment:
Facilitating the shift from system-driven improvements to principle-driven enhancements is essential. This includes promoting a Lean management system, training problem-solving employees, and fostering a culture of daily improvement activities.
Office Management:
Oversee daily operations within the Continuous Improvement team, sharing responsibilities and mentoring team members through processes.
Improvement Process Enhancement:
Facilitate the ongoing refinement of the organization's improvement processes, demonstrating applicable tools and leading by example.
Return on Investment:
While many responsibilities are qualitative, the Specialist is expected to generate significant returns on investment through their initiatives.
Benefit Measurement:
Quantify the potential and realized benefits from projects in terms of cost savings and metric improvements, ensuring project closure sign-off.
Collaboration:
Encourage the sharing of best practices, replication, and standardization across various sites.
Required Experience
- Proven change agent capable of leading improvements at all organizational levels.
- Experience in executing strategies and enhancing the LPS program on a local and global scale.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
Qualifications
Prior experience in a continuous improvement or kaizen role is essential.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
Experience in the semiconductor, optics, or datacom industries is advantageous.
Industrial Engineers with relevant kaizen experience are preferred.
