Role Overview

The Market Development Representative plays a crucial role in enhancing sales and expanding market presence within their designated territory. This position emphasizes the execution of Sierra Nevada brands in key on- and off-premise accounts through effective product distribution, display implementation, and promotional activities. Approximately 90% of the representative's time will be dedicated to these execution efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with existing accounts to secure new distribution, execute promotional initiatives, and enhance market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business and retail opportunities to boost volume, distribution, and market presence within the assigned area.
  • Ensure products are merchandised correctly and point-of-sale materials are displayed according to brand standards.
  • Conduct staff training sessions, beer tastings, and other promotional events as necessary.
  • Manage on- and off-premise activities, including securing displays, ensuring proper product placement, and providing point-of-sale support.
  • Deliver exceptional service to assigned accounts, aiming to become their preferred supplier.
  • Operate within brewery and budgetary guidelines effectively.
  • Compile and submit reports regarding the assigned area and general market insights to the management team and wholesalers.
  • Coordinate events and promotions to enhance brand visibility and stimulate sales.
  • Execute monthly opportunities with National Accounts.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or a combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Two years of business-to-business sales experience is preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet company business plan objectives, including volume, distribution, and profitability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.'s history, culture, and product offerings.
  • Ability to interact with various management levels in both retail and wholesale environments.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong sales acumen.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.
  • Primary residence within the greater Dallas/Fort Worth metro area is preferred.
