Your Role

We are excited to introduce a pivotal role within our team: the Head of Marketing Strategy. In this position, you will play a crucial role in establishing a brand that resonates emotionally with our customers, fosters brand loyalty, and drives growth in our product categories.

As a vital member of the commercial leadership team, you will have significant visibility throughout the organization. Collaborating effectively with key stakeholders across GrowUp, including Impact, Finance, the Leaf Lab (our innovation hub), and the Farm, your influence will extend to high-level decision-making, cultivating a consumer-focused culture within the company, and shaping the future of our business.

Your success will be evident when you see the brand you have helped develop on store shelves and food service outlets nationwide. You will contribute significantly to enhancing our company culture and enjoy working in a dynamic environment with ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution (25%)

  • Center consumer needs and our impact in all planning and execution at GrowUp.
  • Craft comprehensive strategies to position us as the leading branded salad in the market.
  • Design and implement marketing strategies for both new and existing products.
  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, social media, and direct marketing.
  • Ensure alignment of GrowUp and our brands with our Impact Strategy, advocating for relevant consumer topics and maintaining a unified message.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and providing accurate financial forecasts.
  • Support the Product Director and Head of Sales in the annual planning and communication cycle.

Market Analysis and Insights (10%)

  • Collaborate with the Category and Commercial Strategy Director to ensure consumer insights drive our brand and business decisions.
  • Utilize market research to identify consumer trends in the Fruit and Veg sector, keeping us ahead of market demands.
  • Employ data analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, allowing for swift adjustments as needed.
  • Deliver actionable insights to guide marketing strategies and business decisions.

Brand Management (40%)

  • Develop and uphold our brand strategy, ensuring consistency across all marketing communications.
  • Continuously enhance our brand, fostering an emotional connection with consumers.
  • Establish and maintain our brand book, guiding the entire organization to embody our brand ethos.
  • Increase brand visibility and reputation through strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and public relations efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Product Director to ensure a robust product pipeline while simplifying processes for the Farm.
  • Lead product ideation from a consumer perspective, ensuring relevant and compliant product positioning.
  • Create and implement product launch strategies, transitioning day-to-day management to the sales team post-launch.
  • Provide strategic oversight for all creative, media, digital, social, and PR agencies.

Team Leadership (25%)

  • Help demystify Vertical Farming by articulating a clear narrative that emphasizes simplicity and consumer perspectives.
  • Organize the Marketing team structure to effectively deliver on our marketing strategy as a cohesive unit.
  • Inspire the Marketing team and the broader commercial team with innovative ideas that drive results.
  • Challenge the status quo and encourage continuous improvement aligned with our values.
  • Be a visible leader, fostering collaboration and accountability within the team.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure marketing strategies align with overall business objectives.
  • Establish robust operational processes within the Marketing team while encouraging creative thinking and agility.
