About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Secretary to provide administrative and secretarial support to consultants and their clinical teams within the Directorate of Emergency Access and Assessment (EAA) at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial services to consultants and their clinical teams, including clinical audio-typing, data processing, and information technology support.
  • Manage and prioritize own workload without direct supervision, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the public, staff, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Work collaboratively with other secretaries and provide cross-cover during periods of staff absence.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records, files, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Education of 5 GCSE's grades A-C or equivalent.
  • A good command of the English Language.
  • ECDL or IT qualification.
  • Computer literate with experience of MS Office software.
  • Substantial experience of working in a clerical/secretarial/admin role.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good audio typing skills and literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
