We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced administrative professional to join our Haematology Department as a Support Secretary. The successful candidate will provide high-level clerical support to the medical secretaries and clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the medical secretaries and clinical team, including data entry, document preparation, and filing.
- Assist with the coordination of patient appointments, including internal and external referrals.
- Support the team with medical audio typing, transcription, and other administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other stakeholders via telephone and in person.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient information and departmental statistics.
- Qualified to RSA III/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills in word processing.
- ECDL or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills/experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Motivated, flexible, and proactive individual with a strong work ethic.
- Tactful, courteous, and polite, with a smart appearance in accordance with the Trust's dress code.
- Ability to move and handle case notes 2-5 kg+.
- Thrives in a busy workload and is keen to help others.
