Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to provide administrative support to the Acute Medicine team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the consultants and their clinical teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Acute Medicine team, including typing, filing, and data entry
  • Manage and prioritize own workload without direct supervision
  • Work collaboratively with other medical secretaries to provide cross-cover during periods of staff absence
  • Provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases

Person Specification

  • Education: 5 GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent, including English
  • Good command of the English language
  • ECDL or IT qualification
