Position Overview:
The chosen candidate will join the esteemed Breast Care Unit at Blackpool Teaching Hospital, becoming an integral part of the Surgical Unit that serves both in-patient and day-case theater, as well as elective wards. Collaborating with two experienced Breast surgeons, the new team member will be pivotal in providing a comprehensive breast service to the local community.
With an average of 280 cancer diagnoses annually from around 3400 referrals, the role also entails active participation in a weekly Breast MDT meeting, ensuring collaborative care and decision-making.
As part of a multidisciplinary team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, the candidate will work closely with four full-time Breast Care Specialist nurses and will benefit from comprehensive secretarial support. This position is offered under the employment of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing assigned duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Job Plan
- Keeping abreast of advancements and innovations within the specialty
- Contributing to postgraduate education and ongoing medical training
Qualifications:
Essential:
- MBChB / MBBS or equivalent FRCS
- Inclusion in the specialist register or eligibility within 6 months for trainees

- Adaptability and a focus on delivering cost-effective healthcare solutions

Experience and Training:
