Job Description

Job Title: Duty Officer - Leisure Centre Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Officer to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a key member of our leisure centre management team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our leisure centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the leisure centre, including supervising staff, managing facilities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, increase participation, and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, including attendance, sales, and income records.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans, budgets, and performance targets.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leisure centre management or customer service role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and interpret management information.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality services and exceeding customer expectations.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and their application to a leisure environment.
  • Experience of managing staff and leading teams.
  • Knowledge of hospitality and customer service principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
