Senior Speech and Language Therapist for Acute Care and Stroke Rehabilitation

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Speech and Language Therapist to oversee our acute inpatient and stroke rehabilitation services at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
Our facility boasts advanced videofluoroscopy and FEES capabilities, and your expertise in these areas will be crucial. Proven leadership experience is essential, as you will be responsible for guiding a team of band 6 and 5 therapists, while collaborating with senior personnel across multiple hospital locations to ensure the delivery of safe and innovative clinical practices.
As a prominent teaching hospital, you will engage with a diverse range of general inpatients across various specialties, including geriatrics, respiratory care, cardiothoracic medicine, renal care, oncology, and critical care.
Our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) department is committed to professional growth, offering robust support for continuing education through a variety of internal and external development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and manage patients facing acute dysphagia and communication challenges within inpatient and stroke settings. Perform videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) and flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). Provide line management and mentorship to junior staff members. Facilitate training and educational sessions. Drive service improvement initiatives.About Our Organization
