We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in the ENT department, specializing in voice and head and neck cancer. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing swallow and communication disorders in patients with ENT and head and neck cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with voice and head and neck cancer.
- Participate in and lead videofluoroscopy examinations and FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) procedures.
- Develop and implement skills in SVR (Supraglottic Voice Rehabilitation) and other evidence-based treatments.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach other healthcare professionals, including students and SLT colleagues.
- Teach and train staff on best practices in speech and language therapy.
- Contribute to clinical governance activities, such as audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in service developments and contribute to the growth and development of the SLT department.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Appropriate knowledge, skills, and experience in speech and language therapy, particularly in ENT and voice disorders.
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues and championing diversity in previous roles.
