Role Overview:

This position requires proficiency in Welsh.

We are open to considering job share arrangements for suitable candidates.

The primary responsibility is to engage with customers courteously and effectively, whether in person at the reception or via telephone in the contact center. It is crucial to accurately identify all inquiries and resolve them efficiently at the first point of contact, taking ownership of each issue until a satisfactory resolution is achieved in line with service delivery agreements.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling them to interact with a diverse range of customers and staff in a clear and respectful manner. The ability to meet customer needs and provide clear explanations when necessary is essential.

A strong commitment to teamwork is required, demonstrating support for colleagues and respecting their perspectives and concerns.

Efficiently manage interactions with all customers in a sensitive and welcoming manner, with the ability to defuse challenging situations and escalate issues only when necessary.

A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Respond to or redirect a variety of inquiries in a timely and courteous manner, whether over the phone or face-to-face.

2. Collaborate with council colleagues to share information, enhance customer service delivery, and proactively increase awareness of broader services and information related to the Council and the local community.

3. Act as an ambassador for Customer Services and Powys County Council, facilitating communication and collaboration with staff in various departments, senior management, local representatives, the public, and other organizations.

4. Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of Council services, along with the procedures, guidelines, and legislation that impact the relevant service areas.

5. Support the Customer Services Team by working collaboratively with council colleagues to enhance service delivery and actively develop knowledge of wider information and services related to the Council and the local area.
