Job Overview

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of nursing professionals in a ward environment, undertaking a variety of tasks that involve both direct and indirect patient care, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

This role requires adherence to a core competency framework, ensuring the delivery of essential nursing tasks that align with minimum training standards, thereby establishing the necessary competency for practice.

Responsibilities include executing assigned duties while actively participating in the provision of fundamental nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the ward team, you will contribute to the delivery of exceptional nursing care, maintaining professionalism at all times.

You will assist in promoting adequate nutrition and hydration for patients as directed by the Registered Nurse, engaging in food monitoring and ensuring accurate documentation.

It is essential to maintain a clean and organized ward environment, participating in general housekeeping tasks and following protocols for the disposal of soiled linen in accordance with Health Board Policies.

Daily communication with patients, their families, ward staff, and visitors is crucial, ensuring a polite, respectful, and courteous approach.

Effective communication skills are necessary to engage with patients, facilitating care discussions with tact and overcoming any barriers to understanding, including those faced by blind or deaf patients or individuals with speech difficulties.

The ability to communicate effectively within the ward and with all team members, patients, families, and staff from other departments is essential.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcomed.

Qualifications and Knowledge
