Job Overview

The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team of nursing professionals in a ward environment, undertaking a variety of assigned responsibilities that encompass both direct and indirect patient care, all under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Adhering to a core competency framework, the role involves delivering essential nursing tasks to patients, ensuring that all activities align with the minimum training standards required for competent practice.

The individual will be responsible for executing a range of designated duties, contributing to the provision of fundamental nursing care while under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the ward team, you will assist in delivering high-quality nursing care, maintaining professionalism at all times.

Support the nutritional and hydration needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse, including monitoring food intake and accurately completing necessary documentation.

Ensure that the ward environment is kept clean and organized, participating in general housekeeping tasks and following Health Board Policies for the disposal of soiled linen.

Engage in daily communication with patients, their families, ward staff, and visitors, ensuring interactions are conducted with politeness, respect, and courtesy.

Utilize effective communication skills to engage with patients, employing tact and persuasive abilities to navigate any barriers to understanding, including those faced by patients with visual or auditory impairments or speech difficulties.

Foster effective communication within the ward and across departments, collaborating with all team members, patients, families, and other healthcare personnel.

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this position; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcomed.
