About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Systems Engineer to join our team at SII Group UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and establishing interfaces for data management systems, collaborating with system engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality, and optimizing interfaces for performance and reliability in spacecraft operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software systems and interfaces for data management, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of data management systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive software documentation for data access procedures, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Design and develop detailed step-by-step guides to facilitate user understanding and implementation of data management systems.
  • Maintain documentation updates to reflect changes and improvements in the systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Verify the correctness and integrity of data used in spacecraft system engineering, ensuring high-quality data processing.
  • Ensure accurate data processing within the Functional Avionics group, adhering to data governance principles.
  • Perform system configurations, utilizing system engineering skills to optimize performance and accuracy.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of system engineering principles and practices, with a focus on data management and software systems.
  • Experience in spacecraft system engineering and data management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to design, process, and simulate information for software interaction, with expertise in data handling protocols (e.g., 1553, CANbus, CCSDS, Packet Utilisation Standards).
  • Highly desired to have experience with IntelliJ, Java (Object-Oriented coding), GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and other relevant tools and technologies.
  • Experience in creating and managing software documentation, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Must have lived in the UK for 5 years to gain security clearance.
