We are seeking a skilled marketing and communications professional to inspire supporters to engage, contribute, and volunteer, while promoting a cherished charitable organization.



Work Environment

You will join the Trust's internal consultancy team, a versatile group of specialists with diverse skills and knowledge. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors, and project managers, you will work collectively to drive initiatives forward.

Your designated workplace will be the National Trust Regional office at Killerton. Our hybrid working policy allows you to balance remote work with site visits and meetings at various National Trust locations. We will discuss this further during the interview, but anticipate spending 40–60% of your workweek at a National Trust site.



Key Responsibilities

As a member of our regional marketing and communications team, you will contribute to achieving our strategic objectives, supporting National Trust locations, and collaborating closely with local teams.

Your role will involve creating engaging content across multiple channels to enhance the visibility of Trust locations. You will lead and motivate colleagues in local teams, providing coaching and mentorship to enhance their marketing and communications capabilities.

Your efforts will ignite discussions, provide compelling reasons for visits, and elevate awareness of the Trust's mission and activities. You will excel in managing competing priorities.

Collaboration with communications and marketing teams throughout the Trust will be essential, ensuring that plans are cohesive, generating content for owned, earned, and paid channels, and assessing the effectiveness of your initiatives.



Candidate Profile

  • Relevant experience in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies within a specific region or business area.
  • Proficiency in utilizing web content management systems and search engine optimization techniques.
  • Expertise in marketing and communications.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of building effective relationships within diverse teams, both internally and externally.
  • Adaptable and innovative thinker, skilled in negotiation and relationship-building, with confidence in leveraging expertise to influence decisions.
  • Proactive and organized, with a track record of managing projects and a knack for multitasking while maintaining focus on detail, quality, cost, and timelines.
