We are in search of a skilled Marketing and Communications Lead who will advocate for the newly established NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) focused on Sustainable Innovation, while also enhancing awareness and fostering engagement with our organization-wide sustainability initiatives.
The HealthTech Research Centre (HRC), located in Exeter, is one of 14 newly launched research centers throughout England, aimed at collaborating with commercial entities, researchers, and clinical professionals to promote advancements in health technology, particularly emphasizing sustainability. It is hosted by the Royal Devon and operates in collaboration with the University of Exeter.
The NHS is committed to becoming the first national healthcare system to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, and the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has set ambitious plans to realize this goal by 2040. Role Details
We are looking for an experienced Senior Marketing and Communications Manager with a strong analytical mindset, capable of understanding diverse audiences and crafting impactful communications that yield results. You should be comfortable collaborating across partnerships and engaging with multiple stakeholder groups, as well as working independently. This role offers significant autonomy, supported by a network of friendly and experienced marketing and communications professionals. Familiarity with the New Product Development (NPD) process from ideation to commercialization is advantageous.
This position requires a genuine passion for sustainability, knowledge of net-zero targets, and an understanding of broader sustainability issues, including biodiversity, evolving care models, active transportation, and ethical procurement. You will serve as a key resource for non-technical stakeholders embarking on their sustainability journey.
In addition to strategic analysis and planning, this role emphasizes execution, requiring a hands-on approach. You will be responsible for creating web content, press releases, social media posts, email marketing campaigns, and collaborating with our in-house designer, web manager, and press office to produce video and exhibition materials.
