We are in search of a Culinary Operations Manager to lead our kitchen team. This role, internally referred to as 'Head Chef', requires consideration of your commute to our rural location before applying.

Work Hours: This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week, including regular weekend and holiday shifts, with a schedule of 5 out of 7 days. Your work hours will range from an earliest start of 8 am to a latest finish around 6 pm.

Compensation: The annual salary for this position is £30,000.

Employment Type: This is a permanent role.

Role Responsibilities

As the Culinary Operations Manager, your primary focus will be on kitchen management, while collaborating closely with the Food and Beverage management team to create enticing menus that utilize local ingredients, adapting to seasonal changes and adhering to our culinary guidelines.

You will explore innovative methods to enhance revenue and achieve financial objectives by effectively managing inventory and minimizing waste. Administrative duties will also be a significant part of your role, including order placements and invoice management through our online systems.

Your culinary skills will be put to use as you prepare dishes from scratch using fresh, seasonal produce. You should be proficient in baking, preparing soups, stews, and other menu items.

Additionally, you will lead and support your team, embodying the Trust's values, empowering them to deliver exceptional service to our visitors while fostering a positive work environment.

We will provide a comprehensive induction tailored to your role, along with training in food safety and allergen management, as well as opportunities for further professional development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experienced in a professional kitchen environment, ideally as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager, with a genuine passion for culinary excellence and a positive demeanor.
  • Competent in following recipes and batch cooking, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations, with experience in food safety management systems.
  • Skilled in team leadership, capable of setting objectives and providing constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Mindful of budget constraints and focused on increasing revenue while controlling costs.
  • Familiar with online ordering systems and inventory management.
