Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, including regular weekend and holiday shifts, with work spread over 5 days out of 7. The earliest start time is 8 AM, and the latest finish is around 6 PM.
Compensation: The annual salary for this position is £30,000.
Contract Type: This is a permanent position.
Work Environment
As the Culinary Operations Manager, you will report to the Senior Food & Beverage Manager and be based at one of our renowned locations. This historic site spans approximately 4,000 acres and features a variety of food and beverage outlets, including cafes and kiosks that serve a range of delicious offerings.
Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be on kitchen operations, collaborating closely with the Food and Beverage management team to create innovative menus that highlight local ingredients and seasonal produce. You will also:
- Explore new opportunities to enhance revenue and achieve financial objectives through effective stock and waste management.
- Handle administrative duties, including order placements and invoice management via an online system.
- Prepare a variety of dishes from scratch, utilizing fresh, seasonal ingredients, and demonstrate confidence in baking and cooking.
- Lead and support your team, embodying the Trust's values and fostering an environment that prioritizes excellent service and teamwork.
We will provide a comprehensive induction tailored to your role, along with training in food safety and allergen management, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities.
Candidate Profile

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager, with a genuine passion for culinary excellence and a positive demeanor.
- Confidence in following recipes and batch cooking, along with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience with food safety management systems.
- Leadership skills, capable of setting objectives and providing constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
- A strong awareness of budget management and the ability to control costs while maximizing income.
- Experience with online ordering systems and inventory management.
