The Therapies Department at Northampton General Hospital is on the lookout for a dedicated and motivated Administrative Support Specialist to become part of their vibrant team.

We cater to patients across a range of disciplines, including Surgery, Orthopaedics, Medicine, Stroke, Respiratory, Oncology, and Haematology.

Additionally, we provide support for Outpatient Hand Therapy Clinics, Amputees at the Enablement Centre, and The Macmillan Pre-habilitation / Rehabilitation Team.

  • Inpatient adult Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services, including specialized areas

Job Duties

Hand Therapy and Enablement Centre
Deliver reception services for Hand Therapy and Enablement Centre outpatient services, including patient reception and appointment scheduling. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintain clinic diaries, and assist in data entry. Ensure an efficient filing system and provide administrative leadership support. Coordinate office supplies and validate invoices. Report sickness absences promptly.

All Therapy Teams
Complete template reports for Therapists and provide administrative support across all therapy areas. Handle document printing, distribution, and file management. Schedule meeting rooms and take minutes as required. Communicate effectively with various stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality. Utilize electronic patient administrative systems and contribute to governance activities. Engage in training and development activities while upholding integrity and confidentiality.

Candidate Profile

Education, Training, and Qualifications

  • Essential
    Minimum of GCSE at Grade C level or equivalent.

Desirable
NVQ2 or equivalent experience, RSA2.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Essential
    Strong IT skills, effective communication, and a courteous telephone manner.

Desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, office procedures, and patient administration systems.
