Position: Edit Assistant
The Edit post-production facility is seeking a dedicated and skilled Edit Assistant to become a vital part of our dynamic and hardworking team.
As Brighton's premier and longest-running post-production facility, we are committed to excellence in post-production for high-quality film, television, and online projects. Our focus is on delivering exceptional results while providing friendly and professional services to our clients.
Contract Duration: Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension
Work Location: Central Brighton
The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills in a collaborative Avid environment. Proficiency in quality control, legal blurring, conforming, and media management is essential, as the role is integral to our post-production processes. The ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial.
The position requires flexibility in working hours, with daytime shifts at our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with the Technical Director and Post Producers to manage intricate workflows for various projects.
● Oversee and coordinate the media flow through the facility, from ingestion to delivery, including Nexis, nearline, and LTO management.
● Provide prompt and friendly technical support to both in-house and remote clients.
● Execute and supervise quality control and delivery of broadcast and cinema deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines.
● Perform conforming, blurring, and syncing tasks.
● Prepare assets for a color-managed grading workflow.
● Offer technical assistance to final post departments, ensuring a seamless flow of assets through final post and addressing QC fixes.
Qualifications:
● Strong expertise in Avid Media Composer and Nexis Storage.
● Experience in animation and blurring within both Mocha and Avid environments.
● Familiarity with color-managed workflows.
● Experience with DaVinci Resolve or Baselight is preferred.
● A minimum of four years of experience in a post-production setting.
● Proficient IT skills.
