Position: Edit Assistant

The Edit post-production facility is seeking a dedicated and skilled Edit Assistant to become a vital part of our dynamic and industrious team.

As Brighton's premier and longest-running post-production facility, we focus on delivering exceptional results for high-quality film, television, and online projects. Our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction drives our operations.

Contract Duration: Initial 6-month engagement with potential for extension

Work Location: Central Brighton

The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills in a collaborative Avid environment. They should have extensive experience in quality control, legal blurring, media management, and conforming, playing a crucial role in our post-production processes. The ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential.

This role requires flexibility in working hours, adapting to daytime shift patterns at our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Technical Director and Post Producers to manage intricate workflows for various projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate the media flow through the facility, from ingestion to final delivery, including management of Nexis, nearline, and LTO systems.
  • Provide prompt and friendly technical support to both in-house and remote clients.
  • Conduct quality control and ensure the timely delivery of broadcast and cinema materials, adhering to quality standards.
  • Perform conforming, blurring, and syncing tasks as required.
  • Prepare assets for a color-managed grading workflow.
  • Offer technical assistance to final post departments, ensuring a seamless transition of assets through final post and addressing QC fixes.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Avid Media Composer and Nexis Storage systems.
  • Experience with animation and blurring in both Mocha and Avid environments.
  • Familiarity with color-managed workflows.
  • Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and/or Baselight.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a post-production setting is preferred.
  • Strong IT skills are essential.
