Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Neonatal Nurse to join our compassionate and professional team at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Neonatal Nurse (Neonatal Unit)

  • Delivering high-quality, individualized nursing care to a variety of patients with empathy and professionalism.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of neonates in intensive care settings through autonomous and collaborative care practices.
  • Evaluating care needs and formulating, implementing, and assessing care plans independently.
  • Providing leadership and oversight to the nursing team while mentoring nursing students.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Senior Nurse when necessary.
  • Supporting and educating families, equipping them with essential information and resources to care for their neonates effectively.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current registration and revalidation.
  • Specialty qualification.
  • Completion of a mentorship course or Practice Assessor qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • Management course completion.
  • Resuscitation Council NLS certification.

Experience

  • Experience in a level 2/3 neonatal unit.
  • Ability to facilitate and teach students.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex cases.
  • Experience in unit leadership.

  • Completion of a Middle Leadership Module.
