Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor at Kier Group, you will be essential in overseeing and optimizing project expenditures from start to finish, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards. Your responsibilities will include managing multiple community-focused projects.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Direct cost estimation and commercial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost assessments, budgets, and financial plans.
  • Manage procurement activities, including the preparation and evaluation of tenders.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, value management, and cost control initiatives.
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Track project financials, manage changes, and generate detailed financial reports.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and quality benchmarks.
  • Guide and mentor junior quantity surveyors and team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
What We Are Looking For:

This position is ideal for candidates who:

  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Have substantial experience as a quantity surveyor, preferably in a main contracting context.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, contract law, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrate a proven history in cost estimation, budget oversight, and financial reporting.
  • Are proficient in utilizing industry-specific software and tools.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Are detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Have experience in leadership and mentoring of junior team members.
