We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Kier Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing project costs from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
- Oversee and manage procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation.
- Conduct comprehensive risk, value management, and cost control exercises.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project finances, manage variations, and prepare detailed financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience as a quantity surveyor, ideally within a main contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and industry regulations.
- A proven track record in cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership experience and the ability to mentor junior team members.
