Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Kier Group, you will be instrumental in overseeing and optimizing project expenditures from the initial stages through to completion, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining the utmost quality and compliance standards.

Daily Duties:

  • Direct cost planning and commercial oversight throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial plans.
  • Manage procurement activities, including preparation and assessment of tenders.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, value management, and cost control initiatives.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Track project finances, manage changes, and generate detailed financial reports.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and quality benchmarks.
  • Guide and mentor junior quantity surveyors and team members.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to drive project success.
What We Seek:

This position is ideal for you if:

  • You possess a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • You have substantial experience as a quantity surveyor, preferably in a main contracting setting.
  • You demonstrate a strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract law, and industry standards.
  • You have a proven history in cost planning, budget oversight, and financial reporting.
  • You are skilled in utilizing industry-specific software and tools.
  • You exhibit excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • You are detail-oriented with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You have experience in leadership and can provide mentorship to junior staff.
