Kier Construction is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead project cost management and commercial activities. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cost planning and commercial management strategies to optimize project outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans to ensure accurate financial projections.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation, to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Conduct risk, value management, and cost control exercises to mitigate potential issues and ensure project success.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Monitor project finances, manage variations, and prepare detailed financial reports to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and development.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Have experience as a quantity surveyor, ideally within a main contracting environment.
  • Have prior experience working on 2 stage D&B projects.
  • Possess strong knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and industry regulations.
  • Have leadership experience and can mentor junior team members.
