Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized professional to deliver a comprehensive clerical support service to our stakeholders and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an efficient financial business support service, including the management and documentation of both Council and client funds.
  • Process both manual and computerized financial, client, and service data.
  • Generate and evaluate reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Produce various documents, including letters and reports, with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
  • Handle purchase order processing and provide basic IT support.
  • Oversee, assign, and review the work of clerical staff, offering guidance and support as necessary.

You will be an integral part of the Customer & Business Services team, providing support across multiple social work units. Your role will involve working autonomously and serving as the primary point of contact for clerical assistance to local management and their teams. Strong organizational skills and a flexible mindset are crucial, along with excellent communication abilities, as you will be engaged in busy environments supporting social work clients and their families.

Qualifications:

It is essential to have prior experience in a clerical capacity, performing a diverse range of support tasks, and proficiency with various software applications, including Microsoft Excel and databases. You must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently, adhering to deadlines and quality benchmarks. Strong customer service skills, self-motivation, and resilience in dealing with challenging client groups are also vital.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of procurement systems (PECOS) and AIS is advantageous. Previous supervisory experience and an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications are also preferred.

If selected, you will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check, with the level of scrutiny determined by the responsibilities of the position.
