**Head of Sales - m&i - Events**

Based: Chancery Lane, City of London, (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)

**Salary**: £90k OTE (£55-60k basic plus commission)

Role Type: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Reporting to: Commercial Director

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales to join the dynamic team at m&i Forums, the pioneers behind transformative MICE industry events. Be a part of the company that connects key players in the meeting and incentives sector to create market leading events in some of the most captivating destinations across the world.

**Our story**

Worldwide Events specialises in business-to-business trade events bringing together key players in the travel and events industry. We started doing this in 2004, we have run 200 events and we currently employ 100 people. Our mission is to make business joyful which we do by connecting the travel industry in the perfect environment to do business, develop and celebrate. The company is an established front-runner in the MICE, luxury leisure, and romance travel sectors hosting around 15 events per year. This year some of the destinations include: Dubai, Ibiza, Marrakech, Sorrento, Copenhagen, Miami, Tibilisi, and the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

**The Role**

**Key Responsibilities**

**Sales Strategy and Planning**
- Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets in EMEA.
- Analyse market trends, client needs, and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with senior management and the commercial director to set clear sales objectives, KPIs and performance benchmarks.

**Team Management**
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Business Development Executives and Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular training sessions, performance reviews, and one-on-one meetings to support professional growth and skill development.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to excel in their roles.

**Business Development and Client Management**
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the hospitality and MICE sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead high-level negotiations and secure major deals to drive business growth.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute effective lead generation campaigns.

**Event Participation and Networking**
- Represent m&i Forums at international events, industry trade shows, and sales trips to promote our services and build industry connections.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

**Reporting and Analytics**
- Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Utilise data and analytics to drive decision-making, optimize sales processes, and forecast future performance.
- Prepare detailed sales forecasts, budgets, and financial reports to support strategic planning.

**Customer Satisfaction and Service Excellence**
- Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction throughout the sales process and beyond.
- Address client concerns and feedback promptly to maintain strong, positive relationships.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance the client experience and deliver added value.

**Innovation and Continuous Improvement**:

- Stay informed about industry innovations and best practices, integrating new ideas into the sales strategy.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the sales team, encouraging creativity and proactive problem-solving.

Due to the nature of a business that runs events and involves travel, you will at times be required to work outside of hours to meet deadlines, to travel and to operate events.

**About you **-To be considered as Head of Sales, you will need:

- To be educated to university (or equivalent) level.
- A proven track record of at least five years in sales management within the MICE, hospitality, or travel industry.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Deep understanding of the hospitality and MICE industry, particularly within the EMEA region.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive growth and meet revenue targets.
- Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform decision-making, optimise sales processes, and prepare accurate forecasts and budgets.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Strong negotiation abilities to close major deals and manage high-level client relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional European languages is highly desirable.
