Applicants should note that DBS has recently undertaken a review of its operational locations in the North West, and will consolidate all activities in Blackpool. This means that DBS staff will move from both Walker House (Liverpool) and Cheadle Hulme in the late Summer of 2023 and initially relocate to Tomlinson House (Norcross). A further move, to the new Government Hub at Talbot Gateway in Blackpool, is scheduled to take place in 2026.

As a result, all vacant DBS posts in the North West will be advertised at Tomlinson House (Norcross). There is, however, an expectation that all DBS staff, irrespective of their agreed duty station, will travel to other DBS and/or MOD site(s), as required, to complete all necessary training and to participate in team or additional collaborative activities - detached duty terms may apply. Terms of transfer have been negotiated for DBS posts relocating in the North West. DBS also supports Flexible Working, which can be discussed in more detail at interview.

**Job description**:

- The development of improved MI at operational, tactical, and strategic levels within FPCP has been identified as a critical success factor for its future development. The job holder will be part of a small team of like-minded individuals developing and maintaining a comprehensive and business driven MI requirement, which will need to have detail and flexibility to address the frequent ad hoc customer requests for information and data reports. The job holder will pay a key role in interpreting, presenting and improving data quality in order to meet key Civil Service strategic priorities
- Support administration and maintenance to MI Analyst on the build and updates on existing Power Bi dashboards, spreadsheets and databases.
- Collation, gathering and evaluation of data.
- Maintain existing databases, monitor and analyse trends.
- Represent DBS in a professional manner providing excellent and consistent service.
- Engage with customers when required in relation to MI scope/requests.
- Support MI data analyst on ad hoc projects when required.
- Work together to continually improve the service, suggesting improvements of your own.
- Ensure all aspects of work is completed within agreed timeframe.
- Handle requests from DBS customers in a timely manner, prioritising workloads as required.

- Demonstrate communication, interpersonal and organisation skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team to achieve overall delivery
- Be able to collaborate beyond the team to work with colleagues across MOD.
- Capability to obtain and present data
- Good level of understanding of data analysis
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Previous Experience of Power BI desirable
- Show good analytical skill
