**Background**:
It is a hugely exciting time for us here at City. Our new President, Sir Professor Anthony Finkelstein, joined City in 2021, and under his leadership we have developed a new University strategy which gives equality, diversity and inclusion a much greater focus. We have also launched the Office for Institutional Equity & Inclusion which serves as City’s catalyst for inclusive excellence and culture change. The Office plays a critical part in helping us to prioritise staff and student development, engagement, accreditation, monitoring and integrated practice improvement needs; actively fostering an inclusive, respectful and supportive environment so that everyone can fulfil their true potential.

**Responsibilities**:
The Head of Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) will help shape and implement a bold new EDI strategy through our newly formed Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion. You will enable City to drive the change needed to nurture and embed the University’s values and strategy. You will be responsible for the planning, delivery and coordination of the University’s EDI strategy, leading the Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion, monitoring progress to inform how best to address inequalities and promote staff and student inclusion.

**Person Specification**:
Educated to degree level and/or have the equivalent professional experience you will be able to lead strategic development and sustainable cultural change in a large, complex organisation. You will possess personal credibility and natural authority, providing guidance and advice to the Senior Leadership Team and a wide range of stakeholders. You will have experience of leading, delivering and embedding organisation wide equality, diversity and inclusion projects and evaluating their impact and have the necessary skills to lead a high performing EDI team.
