Access Team Co-ordinator

The role of the Access Team Co-ordinator is to provide expert advice and support to all specialty management teams to ensure the delivery of all planned access targets, including referral to treatment and all cancer targets.
Support the implementation of policies and procedures relating to the Access Policy.
Provide a key role in monitoring the referral to treatment pathway, including outpatients, diagnostics and in-patients and overall demand and capacity.
To work with clinical, management and administrative teams to support how they work in the future whilst delivering on national and local expectations.
Produce and deliver training on all aspects of patient access.

Lead role in monitoring the referral to treatment pathway, including outpatients, diagnostics and in-patients.
To work with clinical, management and administrative teams to support service development and initiatives relating to patient access whilst delivering on national and local expectations.
Lead on the development and delivery of training on all aspects of patient access.
Day to day line management of Access Team.

The post holder will be expected to have in depth knowledge of the Trust’s Access Policy and access targets, together with waiting list management expertise.
An in depth understanding of administrative and secretarial processes underpinning elective care, to advise regarding processes supporting change.
Comprehensive, up to date knowledge and practical experience of hospital and IT systems including Radar, PAS, Galaxy, CRIS, histology and Winpath
A good understanding of demand and capacity theory.
Ability to communicate highly complex and contentious issues.
The post holder will be expected to have relevant training and experience within an NHS environment.
Advanced knowledge in use and manipulation of data using Microsoft Excel
Formulate and implement solutions to areas of concern with regard to data quality, accuracy and/or compliance with NHS targets.
Ability to organise and prioritise own workload across a range of areas including outpatients, inpatients, and diagnostics to meet all relevant deadlines.
Deal with challenging staff and patients and distressing situations.
