Job Title: Principal Quality Engineer - Strategic Manufacturing

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Salary: £38,734+ depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Create and manage the processes to support the management of quality for strategic manufacturing processes
  • Supporting supplier audits to assure adherence to BS EN 1090 & ISO 9001
  • Take complete ownership over writing of processes / work instructions
  • Leading assurance activities and Internal Audits as required to improve the current strategic manufacture processes for future contracts
  • Collaborate and lead in Quality Enablement activities
  • Collaborate with the design and build team to develop Quality requirements for future contracts
  • Establishing measurable Quality metrics/ KPI's

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Lead Auditor qualified ISO 9001
  • Possess knowledge of Quality and its processes of how it operates
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Root Cause Analysis / Continuous Improvement Techniques
  • Manufacturing Engineering or Fabrication e.g. NDE or Welding Processes

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Project Management & Reporting
  • Awareness of British Standards BSEN1090
  • Full UK Drivers Licence

The Strategic Manufacturing team:

As a Principal Quality Engineer - Part of the Strategic Manufacturing team, you will be a major contributor to delivery of the submarine programmes. Having the opportunity to be involved with a high performing team, while contributing to a national endeavour. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
