Position Overview

Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: United Kingdom

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: We offer a competitive compensation package based on skills, experience, and market conditions. Candidates are encouraged to share their salary expectations during the screening process.

Essential Qualifications

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive support to Project and Production Teams with technical and quality-related information, including quality documentation.
  • Estimating costs and task durations for the preparation and approval of job-related documentation.
  • Maintaining and effectively managing the Business Unit Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2 standards.
  • Reviewing and implementing local procedures, working documents, welding procedures, qualifications, and records.
  • Coordinating the calibration of manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Ensuring that customer quality requirements are met and promoted within the work environment.
  • Participating in bid meetings to establish technical and quality compliance necessary for contract success.
  • Liaising with subcontractors and client representatives to ensure quality compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, third-party inspection agencies, manufacturing teams, and suppliers.
  • Assessing new and existing subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with client specifications.
  • Contributing to departmental development and striving for continuous improvement through feedback and experience.
  • Upholding the Company Values.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A background as a Time Served Engineer, ideally with an ONC/HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of machining and fabrication, along with organizational and planning experience.
  • Certification in CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspection.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and associated geometric tolerances.
  • An understanding of material grades and their specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, dynamic approach to achieving results.
  • The ability to coordinate customer activities diplomatically.
  • Adaptability, self-motivation, decisiveness, and commitment.
  • A solid working knowledge of computer systems.

Additional Information

  • This position is primarily office-based.
  • Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites may be required.
