Key Details

Position Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: United Kingdom

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Essential Qualifications

The primary responsibilities encompass:

  • Deliver comprehensive support to Project and Production Teams through technical and quality-related information, including documentation.
  • Estimate costs and timelines for the preparation, submission, and approval of job-related documentation.
  • Oversee the maintenance and effective management of the Business Unit Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2 standards.
  • Continuously review and implement local procedures, working documents, welding protocols, qualifications, and records.
  • Coordinate the calibration of manufacturing and testing equipment within the Business Unit.
  • Ensure adherence to customer quality requirements, promoting and maintaining standards within the work environment.
  • Engage in bid meetings to ascertain technical and quality compliance essential for contract success and achieving performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and client representatives to ensure quality compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Foster strong working relationships with customers, third-party inspection entities, manufacturing teams, management, and suppliers.
  • Assess new and existing subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the consistent delivery of products and services in accordance with client specifications.
  • Contribute to departmental development and strive for continuous improvement through feedback and experience.
  • Adhere to and promote the Company Values.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • A background as a Time Served Engineer, ideally with an ONC/HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of Machining & Fabrication, along with organizational and planning experience.
  • Certification in CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspection.
  • The ability to interpret Engineering Drawings and associated Geometric Tolerances and Symbols.
  • Understanding of Material Grades and the implications of material specifications.
  • Exceptional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • A quick-thinking, dynamic approach with persistence to achieve results.
  • The ability to coordinate customer activities diplomatically.
  • Adaptability, self-motivation, decisiveness, and commitment.
  • A solid working knowledge of computer systems.

Additional Information

  • Mainly office-based with occasional site visits.
