Principal Civil Engineer at BakerHicks

We are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to spearhead our expanding Civil and Structural (C&S) team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee large project teams and play a key part in the growth of our C&S department. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that projects adhere to budget, timeline, and quality benchmarks, while also nurturing team capabilities and resources. Additionally, you will prioritize compliance with quality and management protocols, offering innovative suggestions for changes directed by leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of C&S project teams
  • Ensure adherence to company protocols
  • Contribute to the advancement of the C&S department
  • Lead the delivery of C&S designs across various projects
  • Develop programs and manage project modifications
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates
  • Evaluate technical designs of projects
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers
  • Support team members to enhance their performance

Candidate Profile:

  • Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer (CEng MICE/ MIStructE)
  • Proven experience in team leadership and management
  • Robust technical expertise in Civil design
  • Possession of a CSCS Card and SC clearance (or eligibility)
  • Valid UK Driving Licence with a clean record
