Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a Loan Capital Markets Sustainable Finance Director to join the LCM Origination team of a leading Corporate and Investment Bank in London. The Director will assist the origination process of Sustainable Finance deals throughout the transaction cycle.

Sustainable Finance (GSSS or Green, Social, Sustainability, and Sustainability-Linked finance) sits within the LCM Origination team assisting the origination process of Sustainable Finance (SF) deals throughout the transaction cycle.

The Director will be responsible for the development of new sustainable finance products for the Bank to increase product footprint and revenue sources.

They will be the main point of contact for the RMs from various Front Offices with direct responsibility to deliver Sustainable Finance advice and products without day-to-day supervision.

They will be responsible for pitching Sustainable products as the principal point of contact in LCM, with CFOs and Treasurers of large publicly quoted companies and sponsors. The Role would lead and be responsible for the sustainability part of specific deals throughout the transaction cycle in close co-operation with LCM-Origination, the front office department, as well as back-office departments, Credit, Loan Distribution, Loan Execution, Loan Agency, etc

Lead the collaboration with Tokyo on sustainable finance topics.

They will have oversight of junior resource within the team (VP and AVP)

Represent LCM SF internally and externally when required.

Additional dual hat responsibilities:

Production of bespoke client ESG bond pitch materials (i.e. issuance & SPO process, investor preferences, sustainability strategy advice, eligible project identification, KPI and target identification for SLBs and regulatory updates).Lead design market credible and bespoke issuer ESG bond structures (Use of Proceeds/General Corporate Purposes) that can be incorporated in bond structures.Lead execution of mandated ESG bond transactions including sustainability structuring and interaction with SPOs.Attend external client meetings as part of client marketing to present financing proposals as sustainability/ESG expert representative of DCM.The role requires meeting issuing and investing clients, participating in pitch meetings, engaging with ESG agencies/independent sustainable finance bodies and key stakeholders across the Bank globally. The candidate:

Proven track record of GSSS market credit, investment and financial analysis and their application in investment decisions and transaction structuring, probably gained in 1) a major commercial bank or lender or 2) corporate or project finance group of a major international organisation.Strong knowledge of DCM productsIn depth knowledge of SF standards and regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to the LMA and ICMA Principles, the UN Sustainability Developments Goals, Climate bonds Initiative, EU Taxonomy, TCFD, and other majors ESG regulations.Thorough knowledge of main ESG rating agencies' methodologies such as Sustainalytics, Moody's Investors Service, ISS ESG, MSCI, S&P, etc.Solution focused with proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards.Networking skills, and ability and endurance to lead transactions through to their conclusion.Promotes good teamwork.Solid decision-making skills, problem and conflict resolution and ability to participate in teams.Good relevant degree from a leading university.Very good oral and written communication skills in English to enable communication of complex topics.Ideally able to communicate in a major international language, in addition to English.Proactive approach to self-management of tasks and ability to work on multiple items in parallel.
