South East Reserve Forces and Cadet Association are recruiting a part-time Administrative Officer at the Headquarters of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force in Winchester. This role requires a flexible, friendly person with experience of Microsoft Office applications especially Word and Excel. Applicants must have a willingness to learn other applications including bespoke databases for which training will be given. The post is for 16 hours a week with a salary of £10,804 per annum (full-time equivalent £24,985). The successful candidate will also benefit from an average salary pension and a minimum of 25 pro-rata'd days' annual leave plus 9 pro-rata'd public and privilege holidays.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Administrative Officer

Pay Band: E1

Department: Hants & Isle of Wight ACF

Line Manager: Cadet Executive Officer (CEO)

General Description:

1. Clerical support for the effective administration of the Army Cadet Force.

2. The Administrative Officer (AO3) is a part-time employee of the RFCA at the ACF County HQ and works directly for the CEO who is the line manager. The AO3 provides administrative and clerical support to the County ACF as directed by the CEO.

3. The AO3 is not bound by his/her terms of employment to attend any ACF training or activities including annual camp, but may do so by arrangement with the CEO. The AO3 may choose to volunteer to serve in the ACF on the same terms as any other volunteer.

Specific Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Assist the CEO with the accounts administration.

2. Maintain files and day-to-day filing and archiving.

3. Taking initial telephone enquiries and directing to the relevant person.

4. Assist with the upkeep and audit of training records and qualifications.

5. Other general administrative tasks as detailed by the Senior AOs and CEO.

6. Perform duties in a manner that is compatible with safe working practices and in accordance with the Chief Executive SE RFCA's SHEF Policy Statement.

7. Arrange and issue travel tickets as necessary.

Special Requirements (qualifications, equipment skills, etc):

1. Passes at GCSE Standard Grades or equivalent in five subjects at C Grade or above, including English, or acceptable alternative academic achievements or, if aged 22 or over, relevant clerical experience.

2. Computer literate; ability to use MS Office especially excel and undergo IT training as and when arranged by the Association.

3. Good telephone manner and awareness of confidentiality.

4. Able to operate all office machinery.

Other Features of the Job:

1. Attendance at Annual Camp in a civilian capacity, if not as an Adult member of the ACF, is desirable.
