Job Description

I am recruiting for a Director of Forecasting & Planning for an electricity and water company in the Middle East. You will be:

Establishing a robust and auditable framework for the accurate demand forecasting of electricity and separately for water in the Kingdom of Bahrain.Ensuring the demand forecasting framework is accurate to given limits of acceptance as determined by the economic regulator.Producing of a comprehensive seven year ahead Statement of Future Capacity Requirements for electricity and separately for water on a rolling annual basis for the electricity and water sectorDesign and evaluate the forecasted energy mix to meet forecasted demandAnalyse the integration of RES and identify system requirementsIdentify suitable RES technologies including levelized cost calculationsDesign and support the drive to net-zero Government goals by ensuring sufficient strategies are in place to meet such goals with regard to the type of new capacity which is recommended. The Successful Applicant

You will have:

At least 15 years' experience in a power utilities systems planning environment.A working knowledge of software modelling utilising Energy Analytics and Decision Platform software for electricity and water despatch optimisation.A good knowledge of modern generation practices and developments in new electricity generation hardware including efficiency and reliability factors.A good understanding of a water sector supply chain and in particular water production.First Degree in an Engineering discipline -

Some familiarity with:Project Finance Structures.Generation and Transmission Grid Security of Supply Standards as applied in the EU or UK.PV (Photovoltaic), CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) and other RES (Renewable energy sources), battery storage in terms of economics and technology understanding.
