Role Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and well organised individual to join the Bladder and Bowel Care Service, as a Band 3 Administrator and complement our growing team.

The Administrator will need to be able to manage and prioritise their own workload, have excellent IT skills, a professional and methodical approach to work and the ability to work as part of the team.

The post-holder will communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, senior management and other internal and external stakeholders, which may include GPs, carers and other healthcare professionals. A flexible approach to work is essential to meet the needs of the service, together with a good telephone manner.

Opportunities exist for you to make recommendations for service improvement by working alongside the greater admin team and attending administration meetings.

Knowledge and experience working within the medical sector, a familiarity with medical computer systems and experience working within a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.

The post-holder will be based in our office at Park 5, Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter.



About the Role

The post-holder will support all aspects of the Bladder and Bowel Adult admin team, (assisting both Paediatric and Assistant Practitioners teams when required). The role will include booking appointments using the electronic appointment system, dealing with clinical letters, plus duties involving in ensuring the booking system is maintained to a high standard at all times.

The post holder will act as the first point of contact for the Service dealing with patients, health professionals and members of the public; dealing with queries efficiently and ensuring messages are passed to the relevant staff.

The Administrator will need to be able to manage and prioritise their own workload as well as being able to work as part of the team. They must have excellent IT skills, and a professional and methodical approach to work.

The Administrator is a key part of the team and will ensure an effective and efficient administrative service is provided to the clinical teams and to peers, by covering their work in times of sickness/absence and Annual leave and carry out any other duties as designated by the Bladder and Bowel Care Service team when required.

A flexible approach to work is essential to meet the needs of the service, together with a good telephone manner.

Working Pattern: The working pattern will be Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 or 08:30 - 16:30.
