Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Acute Medical Unit administration team in the role of Administrative Support Specialist. This position is essential in ensuring smooth operations within our healthcare environment, which is closely associated with emergency services and general practitioner referrals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing patient admissions and coordinating their journey through the healthcare system. This includes:

  • Handling referrals from various sources, including emergency services and general practitioners.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, both over the phone and in person.
  • Utilizing strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic setting.

Team Structure

You will be part of a collaborative team that includes an Admin Services Manager, an Admin Line Manager, and a Team Leader, along with a supportive group of administrative professionals. You will work closely with medical staff, including consultants and nursing personnel, to ensure patient care is prioritized.

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
  • Strong initiative and the capability to adapt to changing priorities.

Work Schedule

This role requires flexibility in working hours, with shifts arranged in advance to accommodate the needs of the department.
