About the opportunity


The role of Sales Co-ordinator reports directly to the Sales Manager/Account Manager.The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and presenting commercial proposals in response to customer enquiries, providing excellent service to customers for pre sales, orders and post sales activities and working as part of the inside sales team to meet and exceed business plans for order inflow, sales and profit targets. You will represent the company in all commercial and technical aspects of the sales process.


This position is with an established organisation that operates across multiple key industries, including military, construction, and nuclear. With years of experience in these industries, the company has built a strong reputation and established strong relationships with its clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled team and contribute to the company's continued success.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Sales lead / enquiry processing
  • Produce cost estimation where required for quotation purposes using company systems
  • Prepare and send quotations to customers
  • Order entry & updates for customer orders as required
  • Sending of sales documents to customers as part of order process (e.g. sales acknowledgments)
  • Create, issue and maintain serial numbers, certificates and other documents as part of the order process
  • Coordinate with other departments internally to meet customer requests (eg- expediting)
  • Communicate with and provide service to all customers as required. Update sales team and network as required
  • Maintain and update customer files
  • Acquire a detailed and thorough knowledge of the company’s products, processes, quality and safety standards sufficient to enable you to effectively and confidently discuss enquiries, orders and projects with customers and staff
  • Be able to offer a practical approach to problem solving
  • Communicate effectively and regularly (through informal/formal reports, email etc) with customers, colleagues and management on all issues which may impact positively & negatively upon the company’s business, operation and market position
  • Attend and contribute to department meetings, planning and development of company


Administration

  • Process all sales orders. Including but not limited to sales order entry, certificate generation & issue, sales acknowledgement generation & issue, sales order maintenance, etc.
  • Maintain various sales databases on a daily basis and carry out any other clerical tasks relating to this as and when required by the inside / outside sales team.
  • Process enquiries generated by all incoming mediums (eg, email, website, telephone)



To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Able to read and understand purchase orders and enquiries
  • Experience in preparing quotations for customers
  • Previous experience of working in a customer service/sales environment, and displaying a strong customer focus
  • Strong PC skills, proficient in all Microsoft Office packages, ideally with some knowledge of Syspro MRP system and Salesforce CRM system
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Able to work on own initiative, and equally as part of a team
  • Displays an analytical and methodical approach to work
  • Able to read technical drawings (desirable but not essential), understand BOMs and estimate cost of the manufacture of products (desirable)
