This vacancy/vacancies is to cover 35-40 hours per week. Working hours are 10am - 4pm Monday to Saturday. Full time and part time positions available.

MAINPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To work as part of a team providing a welcoming, courteous and efficient service for The Keep's customers. To provide support to other services provided by The Keep.

Key Tasks

  • To open up and close down the public areas at the beginning and end of each day.
  • To welcome the public, visitors and contractors, directing them as appropriate, and to take deliveries.
  • To answer enquiries over the telephone via electronic media, and face to face from internal and external customers, providing the required information, making or receiving referrals as necessary to other colleagues or agencies; and to guide members of thepublic through their searches and use of equipment
  • To maintain security by issuing access cards to members of the public, visitors and contractors as appropriate, following agreed procedures and by controlling car park exit barriers
  • To handle payments for goods and services and assist in completing end of day reconciliations from the till
  • To supervise the use of archive material by members of the public, ensuring their safety and security, and to operate the document issue and return system and other forms of security
  • To produce document containers from the strong rooms and to return them after use, using electronic systems to track the movement of documents within the building and to provide statistics of use.
  • To maintain tidiness in all public areas and the strong rooms.
  • To support the organisation and running of events and room hire, dealing with initial booking enquiries, helping to set up and close down rooms and AV equipment, and assisting with issues arising on the day.
  • To undertake admin and clerical work as required, including the collection and maintenance of statistical records, word processing and maintaining booking systems
