Job Summary:
A vibrant London Borough who has a pro-development outlook urgently requires a Deputy Team Leader - Development Management.


Core responsibilities will include allocating cases, signing off reports, monitoring performance, presenting cases at committee, acting up for the Team Leader in their absence and assisting with the implementation of service improvements when required.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Manage and mentor four planning officers
  • Allocate caseloads amongst the team
  • Sign off delegated reports
  • Negotiate complex S106 agreements in conjunction with discharging conditions and finalising reserved matters.
  • Draft detailed delegated reports and present at committee
  • Actup for the Team Leader in their absence.
  • Build robust relationships with members.
  • Conduct member briefings, engage with regeneration teams and consult with local community groups
  • Liaise and work closely with external bodies including the GLA and TFL etc.
